This book is a result from an IAS’s artist commission to Sasa+MeeNa Park within the framework of its exhibition,
“Curating Degree Zero Archive” at IAS. Having been conceived and formulated by two curators, Barnaby Drabble and Dorothee Richter, the CDZA holds books and images collected by over 100 international curators. In each touring venue, the archive undergoes new approach and analysis in the local context, and IAS invited Sasa+MeeNa Park for its re-interpretation and re-structuralization. This book indexes the archive in the system they set up for the exhibition.
Implying ‘that which one wishes to see’ or ‘that which one has to see,’ the journal BOL is published in Korean and English, discussing visual culture from a humanities perspective. It is a forum to create an arts network to respond collectively to the issues that are pressing cross-culturally.
Insa Art Space publishing activities, carried out in tandem with its other operations, circulate and expand, both on-line and off-line, the IAS archives, productions, and the documentation of the IAS workshops in both Korean and English, thereby building a historical memory and creating horizontal international networks.
